95 115hp overheat horn continued...

hi recently posted a forum about me over heat horn(constant beep) going off even when the motor is cold, starts beeping as soon as turned to on position, well i popped off the lower cowl to get to the warning module and unplug the purple wires like one person previously said and it still beeped, it kinda changed pitch of sound for a second when it was unplugged and replugged but still a constant beep....now when i unscrewed the little screw into the block that the heat sensor wire, the wire that goes into main wiring harness and then the wire that goes to the module it stopped, the wire coming from the module seemed to be the problem, when it is touched to the others or just the wire to the main harness that runs to the control box horn, it sounds, so does this mean my module is junk????? (by the way i already replaced the heat sensor that goes into the block, and i know motor is not overheating) thanks
