I just bought this boat and will officially be getting it on Saturday. Without the boat in front of me, I would say the lower unit is around 4 to 5 ft. away from the back of the trailer. I'm used to boat where the distance is only a couple of ft and I just use one of those simple transom saver rods.

I'd like to know what are my best options for a transom saver on this rig.

Thanks,
Matt

Get a lock n stow and never look back. It mounts to the holes in the mounting bracket and then just hold it up and lower motor till it contacts it and it stays in place. They work great and very easy to install on any merc motor.
