95' Evinrude 70 Quik-Start question

Recently when starting the engine cold at the launch I noticed that quik-start feature is not engaging for long enough to even confirm whether its working on cold startup. Once warmed up for 30 secs or so after a brief fast idle out of gear, the engine runs great. Warm restart is instant. So I was doing a bit of research here and I deduced from it that the temp switch grounds out the quik-start at 96 degrees F. If that is true ,would outside ambient temps at or in excess of 96 degrees F, which is how hot its been lately, cause the engine to not stay in Quik-Start for the needed time to fully warm the engine from a cold startup?

I believe the quick start turns off after a certain temperature is reached (Don't ask me what) and it is also turned off after a certain RPM is reached (Don't ask me what).
Perhaps you are turning it off by giving it a bit of a rev when cold?
Maybe try starting it up & touching nothing, note the RPM then let it idle for a while & see if the RPM drops when the temp comes up.

Yea, I tried that Fed. It was clearly engaging a few weeks ago when I was launching during morning temps in the upper 70's. Never used fast idle. Now when it starts up cold the rpms never go above 1000 and it drops off to under 800 before stalling unless I give it some fast idle for a few seconds. Still bumping the fuel primer as needed. Lately we've been putting in after noon and the ambient temps are in upper 90's. There is a thread on here I was reading and it was mentioned that the temp switch simply acts to terminate the quik start feature once it reaches 96 degrees. I'll try and find the thread and post a link. Otherwise when restarted cold or hot the power pack initiates quik start at each startup from what I understand , but for just a few seconds.

Maybe it's confused, stick an ice pack on it.
I think the rpm cut off is around 1400, hopefully someone with a late model manual will chime in.

Here's one thread that touches on the temp switch parameter that the black and white wire grounds at. Otherwise it looks like the quik start engages regardless of the temp switch ground, but only for a few seconds via the powerpack. My power pack is new as well as the stator windings and timer base. Maybe I should try cooling it down somehow before starting cold out in this heat. lol. and see if it will stay in quik start a bit longer. I dunno.

Is this since you replaced the powerpack, is it a genuine OMC one specifically for your motor?
Interesting.

Yea, all of the ignition parts I replaced were BRP parts. It all worked good for the first few weeks after I did all of the work. Just started this after the last two outings when outside temps were in upper 90's . Probably even hotter under the motor cover before starting cold.

So at this point there's no fast idle on a hot day but by all accounts it should go into fast idle even when the motor is hot.
From dazelbee's final comment in the link you posted I suppose you should make sure the powerpack is getting the signal from the yellow/red wire that comes from the solenoid.

I'm going to have a good look at that yellow/red wire tomorrow and trace it from the solenoid to the power pack.
