Hey Guys, bout to replace the waterpump on a '96 Mariner 200 I have. I haven't got a manual yet but I need to replace the waterpump, like now! The water pickup is on the front on the foot instead of the sides, I've never seen a foot ike this. I've changed pumps on several outboards (I'm more familiar with my sterndrive), any secrets or hints before I start. Thanks

Re: '96 200 Mariner Waterpump Questions New Problem

OK, here's the scoop. Long story short, there was an obstruction between the waterpump and the powerhead. I cleared it by backflushing and after reinstalling the foot, it has a good pee stream. The foot has the pick-ups in the very front of the foot. There is a stainless reinforced hose on the side at the top of the foot between the area above the pick-up going to the the water pump area.I hope this makes sence. Anyway, having never seen one, can anyone give me any information as to what benefit this foot has if any?
Next problem and the most important, Right after I got this boat, the oil pump died. The wise one's here gave me advice to remove the pump and block it off, which I did. I was told when I disconnected the sensor for the pump, it would not bother other alarms. I checked the heat sensor alert today, grounded the beige wire going to the sensor and no alert. I checked the water alert sensor in the fuel filter and no alert. Just looking for advice on what to check. Sorry for the long post but, Thanks for the help , Dave
