Hi thank you all in advance for your help. This site has been a great help with info and parts.
1996 regal 4.3lx gen plus, alpha gen II drive, 2 barrel merc carb.

The problem I have is when cold my engine starts up great, runs for 10 seconds and then dies. Feels like it is using all the fuel in the bowl. After quite a while of cranking I can get the engine started again and finally keep it running. Once warmed up it starts and runs great the rest of the day.

Could I be having an intemittant fuel pump problem or would the oil pressure switch be the problem? Is it possible once the engine oil is warm it is then letting the switch work properly? I am leaning to the oil pressure switch since cranking the engine seems to fill the carb. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Check your oil pressure switch. Either it is bad or the wires too it are broken. If wires are not broken you can jump the switch to see if it is your problem. Dont run it that way just do it to diagnose.

Ditto - jump out the switch and see if it runs like it should. If it does, replace the switch.
