I am troubleshooting a 96 40hp Force with trim problems. I am not showing voltage at the trim pump. Does someone have a wiring harness diagram that shows the tilt/trim system?
no power at all in either direction - go into engine cowl and look for the trim circuit breaker. It may be an inline fuse on some engines but is more commonly a push-to-reset breaker.
no power in one direction. follow trim motor wires back into engine cowling. find where the blue and green wires plug into another harness. swap them and see if problem reverses direction. if so then get new relays.
Did not find a C/B for the trim, but did find a fuse, (don't know if it was for trim) but it was not blown. I guess it is time to play spark chaser, and find out where the voltage is and work back from there.
