96 alpha one outdrive drama

Just traded for a 18 foot chapperel with a 3.0 litre mercruiser. Motor runs well but needs a carb kit. No biggy. Throttle lever does not let me get nuetral. Can shift from foward to reverse. Any help on adjusting or worn out parts to look for would be apreciated. Thanks

Get a merc manual, you will need it. There are links in the forum, try a search. If you put up the serial numbers someone will give you a link if it's available. As far as the shifting, you will have to check the shift interrupt switch. Tests are in the manual.
