Hi, - new to boating and the forum - dumb question - I just bought a '96 Bowrider and have this strap with snap just in front of the passenger windshield that I can't find any explanation for? Thought maybe it held down the walk-thru windshield but it's not long enough to strap anywhere? Anyone else have this strap on their Sea Ray?

If the boat has a bow cover for the cockpit, it may be used for wrapping/rolling a portion of it you can walkthrough. Got any photos?

It may be used to hold the walk-thru part of the windshield open so that it doesn't blow closed when running. Check to see if the snap has something of a star shape to it rather than a standard round snap. If so that's probably what it is, as that's the purpose of that special shape.

We had a '98 Cobalt bow rider with that setup.

We used to have a 98 Searay 185 and it had that little strap. It snapped onto the inside of the walk-through windshield when it was open to stop it from bouncing around. Maybe the snap is missing?.

Thanks everyone for your fast replies! I'm guessing a snap is missing or I didn't think to look underneath the windshield.
