I just bought a 96 Crownline 202 about a month ago. It has a fuel injected 5.8 lt Volvo with a SS dual prop. I have had it out a view times and it ran like a dream. Last weekend we had it out for awhile and after siting for a bit we went to take off and it started acting like it was either starving or flooding. This lasted a couple min then everything was fine. Later that day it did the same thing only it wouldn't run and had a few back fires. After a min of turning it over, it ran fine. Has anybody had this happen to them? What kind of repairs am I looking at?

Have you ever changed the fuel water seperator? thats where I would start less then $20 and your best impression as a contortionist. While your at it a tune up would be a good idea if you have not done it yet.

Woody, While you are hanging over the engine.......If you have the Supersport seating (rear bench seat) the entire seat will tip forward to give you more room/access around the engine. Raise the engine cover/sunpad and grab the board that the seat back cushions rests against. Pull it up and forward. The entire seat is hinged along the front edge.

Like LippCJ, I'd go with a new fuel/water separator filter first. Don't forget to lubricate the gasket on the new filter or you will really be wishing you had the next time you go to replace it.
