my motor is on a 1965 Maritime 20ft aluminum boat. it is cathedrul hull boat that i have completely refurbished, it's beautiful. the boat planes easily even with full 1100lb load. the motor "cavitates" when turning or is tilted up even in small amounts. The motor plate is even with the bottom on the boat. This is my first boat and my first summer and am concerned that lowering the motor to the last hole would be too low. the motor sits low in the water while not moving and I concerned with moving it down. any suggestions?

Lower the motor just one hole (only 3/4") and see if it still cavitates in turns. Make sure not to have too much kickout with the trim.
