Hello Gang,

I have a question about disconnecting the VRO for my motor.

I have done this last year and I mix 50:1 in the gas tank now. Just the other day for the first time the alarm went off with a broken tone. (Tone-Tone-Tone) While the Game Warden was checking my boat and me.(Great Timing I may add) I shut the engine down and then re-started and it went away. I also disconnected the wires but the tone still went off.

Do I need to plug the hoses so air won't get sucked into the line. Any suggestions will help.

Thanks

Tx

Rapid shoirt tones denotes a no oil alarm from vro.Did you disconnect the amphenol(4 wire) plug that exits the VRO pump when you disabled it?That plus the 2 wires that exit the oil resevoir to their plug in connectors under the engine cover. If so ,your problem is likely with the alarm module. Also the oil inlet to the vro pump needs to be securely capped off or it will indeed injest air and cause problems.
