I picked up this 9.9 early this spring and it's been a good motor, to-date.
PO seems to have done his maintenance, which in Florida, makes all the
difference in the world. Lately, however, I've been struggling with my
newly acquired power boat's outboard and cooling has been an issue. Which
has led me to get paranoid about the sailboat's power. The telltale's water
stream is steady, but not what I would call pressure. Forgive me for the
illustration, but I would compare it to a 40 year old man's 'pee stream'. Solid,
but you couldn't knock over paper cups with it. (sorry). As opposed to a
teenager's, but definitely not a 70 year old. Does this make sense? Is this about normal?'

When I purchased the motor, I had a 'mobile mechanic' come and take a look
and he gave the thing a thumbs up, even said, "It's got good water flow", but
with these recent "other boat" problems, I just want to make sure. If it
sound normal, then I don't want to drop the lower unit and replace the
impeller until the spring, if possible. If you guys think it should be stronger,
then that's what I'll do.

It isn't a hard job to change the impeller so I would just get it done now before it hits 70. If you know what I mean. At 70 it could cause you other more expensive problems. Best of luck. Rick.
