96 johnson 150 want go over 5000 rpms

this past summer i spent 500.00 trying to figure out why my motor would stall at 5000 rpms after 1mech 2months of trying parts and 500.00 i told my mech to call the factory for answers 10 mins later foundout there is a second fuel pump off a25 hp johnson that takes away gas vapors a 25.00 part fixed it hope this may help someone else good luck and great boating.

I have a similar problem, but I'm not following you. Is it on the engine or your talking about taking this piece of another engine to help your 150?

no it is on the engine below the carbs on front of motor my motor is 2 stroke 150 20" shaft we by passed the little filter and motor would turn 5600 rpms on18'bassboat

any chance you could post the part number of the 25 dollar part? I have a 96 acting simular.
