I've started having an issue with my engine, actually more the fuel system. Last summer, never had to touch the primer bulb engine ran great. Starting this summer had to prime the bulb several times in an outing. and would run great when first leaving the ramp, but after fishing for a while and then getting ready to leave it's hard to get the boat to idle. have to prime the bulb multiple times and after awhile it will just take off and run like nothing was wrong. Well my first suspect was the primer bulb. Changed bulb(walmart cheapie),now I'm still having issues with the idling and the bulb sucks flat. I've idled the engine in the drive on muffs and while it doesn't suck it all the way flat it does squeeze it down enough to allow me to open the fuel fill cap and make no difference(venting). From what I read it is probably an obstruction in the fuel line or at the tank to fuel line connection. I intend on sticking the line where it connects to the tank in a 5 gallon can to see what that does. I can not get the bulb to pump up all the way, seem to never get hard. Am I on the right track with the obstructed intake since I've effectively ruled out a venting problem? Can anyone tell me where this intake is located on a 96 Javelin 409 F/S. I love this boat but this issue is driving me crazy. I've pulled thing apart and have had no luck finding what I was looking for. Help please...
