This motor started bogging down last summer. It ran fine first part of the summer. I kept it on a mooring, & in Aug. it started running poorly. It will start up & idle, but when you put it in gear & throttle forward the boat (13' whaler) won't even get on a plane.
I figured classic ethanol issue. I just went thru it & did a carb kit. Ran fine in the driveway, but did not get to launch it until 2 weeks later. It ran rough and would not get enough throttle to plane.
I went back and added a new fuel filter, new fuel line & primer bulb, & spark plugs. It ran good again in the driveway on the muffs. Took it to the ramp the same day, and it fired right up, idled fine for 10 min. As soon as I put it in gear and push the throttle forward it bogged down & stalled. I could not get it to run in gear.
Checked the compression - both cylinders right at 100 psi. Any thoughts on what to do next?
