i have a 96 mercury 1150 115hp 6 cylinder
i think or thats what i was told but any ways got a couple of ???s to ask!!!!!!!


how do i know the waterpump is working??????????


the motor isnt latching down when i put the motor down...which causes it it flip up when in reverse and cant jump on the trottle cuz it will pull the motor out of the water.....tho if i ease on the trottle it works just fine how do i fix that??????

along with the water pump i have read on here that it wont pee out of the hole until its up to temp..i ran it for 45 mins and still no peeing and the motor ran fine...does it come out of the exhaust????? and the motor wasnt hot at all....

how long does it take to replace a water pump on this motor and what is the easest way to do so???? how much does one cost????

i just bought this motor for 300 dollars with the boat and trailer and titles.... the guy owed me money and has had the boat out early spring... i just want to know some more stuff i can check before i take it up camping tomarrow..... thanks

From your description it sounds like 1976 model as 6 cylinder wasnt made in 1996. As the latching problem there should be a tilt pin(31) that reverse lock hooks grab (see diagram below), if it is in place the cam ramp or guide in lower unit is worn/missing. Take a stiff piece of wire and run it up the pee tube to remove debris, this engine does not have a t-stat and will pee within 20 seconds of starting. A impeller is $15-$21 depending on place of purchase and take about 30 minutes to do one. It a matter of unbolting ,replacing and rebolting and alignment to repair this,just seach the site as there as step by step instructions on how to do it.
