How do you adjust the idle on this one?
Its in excellent condition very low hours.
Ya know kinda have to "shift fast" into
gear on this one always have the "thunk"
for lack of a better word.Been siting 2
months idle seems a little to low. Its fine
when warms up but taking several times
starting when its cold to idle.
Mine realy isnt bad
putting it in gear just me I guess. An idle
increase the "thunk" would be worse right?
What would be a safe increase rpm at idle
and how to do it? My rpm gauge is the in
dash from 97 so not sure how accuarte it is.

Re: 97 120 Idle adjustment

First do a compression and a spark test.
The towershaft is where you adjust the idle.
Screws on the carb is for air/fuel mix. One turn out from bottom.
Then adjust from there.
The idle should be around 750-800 in gear and motor hot.

Thanks Jerry!!!!!
Will do right away. Do you know anything about the Seloc
book for force outboards? Not sure but I think I saw a post
about staying away from that one.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stay away from Sloc and Clymer.
Clymer is better.
They both are better than nothing.
