I cant find this thread think I even started it.
My prop can see in pics its a 3 blade. What type of prop
you think would be best? Dont know the difference.
I suppose one type puts less strain on the motor right?
I cant find any numbers or maker on it. Best I know
it came from the factory with it.

Re: 97 120 Prop

It came from the factory with an alum. prop. the stainless was added later probably by tracker.
There HAS to be some letering somewhere on the prop.
Take it off and look at the ends where the shaft goes through.
It could be a 17SS Maybe a 19SS.
Now if it was a 200hp It might get as big as a 21ss.23ss
To start with an aluminum.I'd go with a 19 to test.
Some dealers have props laying around just for testing. They want you to get the right thing.
Your motor should run at 5500rpm at wot. Shoot for them numbers.

You 1997 Force 120 motor's WOT rpm range is 4750-5250 rpm.

Until we know what wot rpm it turns(with speed), we cannot say what prop would be best for you.

Understand..I forgot to ask whats a better way to check rpm on
a outboard. A car I know but not clear on a outboard. Guage in
the dash is 1997 so I guess its not to accurate.
You guys are great!! Cant thank you enough!!!
