Im changing motors and the truck is hooked up to run propane. What is this thing? The hoses look like they run to the heater core? Is this the propane set up? It also had hoses going to the intake, and every where.

It's a bit dark so I cannot tell which system you have but yes, that is the vapor converter (the large vapor hose is a dead giveaway).

There are 3 different ways to deliver propane to the intake manifold -

1. Complex converter.
2. Simple converter
3. Vapor injection.

A complex system uses a single unit to convert the liquid propane into a vapor and then deliver it (via the large vapor tube) into the throat of the carb or intake manifold.

A simple system uses 2 units, one unit converts the liquid to vapor, the second unit delivers the vapor to the manifold.

As the propane is converted to vapor, it freezes into an ice block, heated water is required to stop this happening.

Propane injection requires a modified or custom manifold to house the injectors. There is also a CPU that iinterfaces with the vehicles ECM.

If you clean up the pic, I can identify what system you have although I'm pretty sure you have a simple.

Is that a dual fuel system?....you should have a small 4 inch round piece {fuel lockoff} where the propane line runs to the propane tank....better pic is needed.....if it is dual fuel you will have a switch inside your cab

It is a dual fuel system and there is a switch in the cab. Here are some better pics.

These are the hoses that go to the heater core.

These are the same hoses where the run behind the motor.

These small hoses in the red went into the plastic TBI riser.

In the shot with red and red those are in and out lines for the vaporizer....that's where the propane is vapourized then introduced to your mixer at the tbi throw the 1 1/2 vent like tubing.....what do you want to know??? to run as dual fuel again or just old regular gas and no propane...if so there are a few changes to make like plugs, vac advance
blue and red lines should go it fuel lockoff ...don't see it already removed???

I want to get rid of it, but im gonna hold on to it so if I ever do want to use it I can put it back on. What has to be done besides the heater hoses? I was going to leave the tank in the bed and the hoses that run to the motor, but just tie them back out of the way. I have never used it and was told that it was all there just not hooked up when I got the truck. I have never worked with a set up like this and know nothing but what iv'e learned here. The motor swap isn't a problem iv'e done a few on these trucks and many on all kinds of cars and trucks.
