97 3.0LX mercruiser cracked manifold? Is this common?

Looked at a 97 Bayliner capri today with the 3.0LX Mercruiser. I noticed the intake is obviously cracked (see attached picture). When the motor ran with the muffs on I didn't notice anything around the cracks (water, air hiss, etc.). Is this a common problem after this many years or is this a product of overheating, etc.?

^^^ yup, and it looks like the block could be cracked too, rusty stains running down the block behind the manifold
