97 Bayliner Capri 4.3 Engine Harness

I have 4.3 mercruiser im working on and engine harness is a complete mess does anyone know what the part number might be for the right engine harness?

There is some kind of black box on the distributor with a plug ..some wires are cut , there is also another plug hanging loose ...not conected to anything with about 10 prongs ...maybe it was EFI engine at some point ?..anyway it is carburated now and im just trying to make it work and look right ...im not even gonna try to fix the harness i have in there right now ...any suggestions are welcome

I like to use http://www.mercruiserparts.com/ for finding parts and part numbers. Click on the link towards the top that says "search with pictures" then click on through to select you engine, year etc...

That site will show the exploded view of your engine/drive along with part numbers and descriptions. You will just need to click through the various categories until you find the one that shows the harness.

Ayuh,... The factory manuals up in the Adults Only section of this forum explains what all those pieces are,+ what they do...

This might be what you are interested in. I have no experience with this product, but I had it saved in my favorites in case I needed one some day.
