97 Evinrude stator plate screw

Has anyone had problems with this coming loose? Was told it is a factory defect... No lock tite on it from the factory,,, How do I get in touch with someone from factory? Please help,, this boat and motor belong to my grandfather... 1997 Evinrude 25hp model # J25TELECB Serial # G04431892

You can try going thru your local Dealer.But I don't think Bombardier will call it a factory defect as it has stayed tight these past 10 years before loosening.Worth a shot I guess.
