On my sweetwater toon, 25 hp mariner year1997. I'm aware that to avoid transom damage due to lower parts of motor running in to objects that may be in the water, there is a link to the throttle forward position that raises a "two finger lock" which allows the motor to be pushed up out of the way . Mine doesn't unlock. When watching the throttle ops repeatedly all linkage is moving but needs to move another quarter inch or so to successfully unlock. What do you think?

If you adjust the cable will this allow the lock to Unlock?

Problem is common. You were too close to what you were doing. Many times I had people looking over my shoulder (so to speak) that saw things I didn't....I was too involved in what I was doing.

Mark
