97 mercury 150 no spark on right bank

new to outboards and need help . this motor is only firing on the left bank. I work on autos and trucks but im not sure where to start on this. any help is appreciated

Well, that motor should have dual switchboxes, three triggers and one stator. Since three of the cylinders are firing, the triggers are good. That leaves a defective switchbox, or a defective stator.

The CDI electronics website should have a troubleshooting guide for your ADI ignition. It is usually the switchboxes, but not always.

thanks for the reply can I move the switchbox that is firing to the other side or is this possible? also are these switch boxes mounted in plain sight because im not even sure what they look like. thanks again

The switchboxes are stacked. Trace wires from the coils to the switchboxes. If you swap the stator wires between the switchboxes, and the problem moves, it is likely the stator. If the problem doesn't move it is the switchboxes. Replace in pairs. CDI makes replacements.
