I recently got a '97 Johnson 4 HP 2-stroke. It came with a 3 gal. fuel tank. I can't see any means of venting; it seems too dangereous to just loosen the fuel cap. Also the fuel outlet fitting doesn't have the little pin to open the check valve; and yet no fuel comes out when a partially full tenk is inverted. How do these things work?
