My rocker switches have to be clicked on & off a couple of times before they work. Should I try some kind of contact cleaner or do they need to be replaced? Is there a brand that is the best to get?

Thanks!

I had the same problem with my horn. I have a '97 185. I take my boat to a mechanic each year for service and general maintenence and had him take care of it for me. But mine would just work when ever it wanted to. My blower was locked up and replaced that. Could be that your blower is doing the same?

I really think it's the switches because if I wiggle, click them they will come on & stay on. Are they a name brand? Are they $80 a pop?

www.greatlakesskipper.com has a lot of OEM switch panels. They may have a whole panel similar to yours you can just drop in.
Whoa, part city! Thanks! Is 20 amp standard or should I pull the switch off & look for a #? Do I remove the dash plate first?

Old but rookie mechanic here, thanks!

The switch will only have a max amperage rating. You need to look at the breaker or fuse that is protecting that circuit to see what size breaker/fuse protects it. All the switches will be the same...rating wise. The horn will be a monentary on/off switch, the rest will be on/off or on/off/on (nav and anchor lghts.).

You might want to inspect the condition of your wiring and switches. At 13 years old, you may see green discoloration on the switch terminals and black discoloration on the wiring. These 2 issues cause LOTS of problems...

I went by the local SeaRay dealer & asked about the switches. This young lady was SHARP! She had been there over 12 years.

Her- '97? Grey right?

Me- Yes Ma'am.

Her- Gonna be hard to find total grey, you do know that the switches are two piece? You can reuse your covers, I can get the black guts for $8 each.

Me- Done.

She rocks. $16 out of a 'Ray dealer, I'm
