98 115 johnson excessive smoke and oil use

I have a 1998 Johnson 115 J115elecm
This thing smokes like crazy at startup it used to clear up after planing out now it smokes all the time using more than double the amount of oil it use to. It is also harder to start (im sure plugs are fouled with excessive oil) The compression is 110-112 psi on all cyl. I changed all fuel lines from the tank to the engine, the primer bulb and fuel/water separator thinking I had an air leak. Tried a decarb with Seafoam as directed on this site. Could the VRO be going out? next stop is the shop hoping to gegt some good advise first. thanks

a new fuel pump is about $400. you can just premix and unplug your vro wires and cap you oil inlet.

Defective VRO/OMS pump...usually sign that oil pump shaft has pull /broken the o-ring

Yep, had the same problem with my 94 175 and a new VRO pump fixed it.
