my fuel gauge is stuck on full all the time. Is there a test procedure I can do to figure out where the problem is? Or is there something I should check first? I just bought this boat used and don't know how many gallons I'm using when I run it. Also, is there a aux petcock on these things, just in case I run out of gas?

There are two items on a boat that are notorious for not working. One being the speedo and the other being the fuel gauge. You should remove the sending unit and check for proper ohms and resistance - you'll need a multimeter for this. Also check your fuel gauge itself. Look for loose or corroded wires, bad connections, etc. I would say that there is not a secondary tank to switch over to.
