98' 25 hp 2 cyl Evinrude recrc line

There's one recirc line on a 97' 25 hp that connects to the intake manifold below the carb, and runs up behind the fuel pump to a nipple and connects there.

Were does the recirc line on a 98' 25 hp connect to from the intake manifold.

There's no nipple tapped into the block behind the fuel pump, and this particular engine does have a recirc line connected at the intake manifold, with no place to go.

Let me mention that this recirc line also has a tee in it with a line coming off each side of the tee.. I just got this engine and that's how it was.

Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this.

Are you sure those lines you are referring to are recirculation lines and not the lines from the primer solenoid? On that motor, the primer solenoid lines would come from a black cylinder with a red handle on it. The line from the solenoid would connect to a T and then from there, one line would go to a nipple on top of the carburetor and the other would go to the intake manifold at the bottom of the carburetor. There is one recirculation line on this motor and it is hard to see. It goes from the top of the intake manifold to the bottom of the manifold and very close fitting to the block. On some OMC engines, I have seen this line spray painted the same color as the block which makes it very hard to see. You can get a schematic for this motor at www.boats.net and see what I have tried to describe.

Being a tiller model, even though it's electric start, it didn't come with a primer solenoid as the remote models did. It has the hand pump primer system.

As I already said, this line/hose is attached to a nipple in the intake manifold under the carb, just as the earlier model is..

I'm now thinking that it could go to the primer nipple in the carb, and tee off to the hand primer.

I had to use the primer pump from a 30 hp and also used the hose from that pump.

As I said in my first post, there is no nipple behind the fuel pump in the block. just a flat spot where a nipple would have been in previous models..

I'm going to go check that link.

Not being the most proficiant at manipulating computers, I struck out in trying to find a schematic on that web page, or even a link to an area I might find it.

Here is a better link to all the 1998 Evinrude motors: http://www.boats.net/parts/search/BRP/EVINRUDE/1998/parts.html

You would need your model number located on the transom bracket. Here is a link to model E25TEECB (Note sure if that is your model)

http://www.boats.net/parts/search/BRP/EVINRUDE/1998/E25TEECB 1998/CYLINDER & CRANKCASE/parts.html

Part number 24 is the recirculation hose. It connects somewhere on the top of the manifold and bottom of manifold. I believe if you remove the carburetor, you would get a better look at it. Possibly there is no nipple and the hose inserts into the manifold. That would be odd but possible I guess.
