I have a strange one or at least it has me stumped. When I bring the boat off plane quickly to an idle/no wake position I hear a rummbly rattle from the engine for a few seconds. Any thoughts of what it may be? If I back off the throttle slowly and ease it down I do not hear it at all. Other than that the motor sounds perfect at all speeds no unusual sounds knocking or ticking at any speeds. I do not hear anything unordinary while accelerating only when decelerating quickly.
You guys are great, a wonderful site with great advice and information. I've learned alot from this site, most questions I have I can usually get answerd form reading the other posts. I have been able to diagnose a carb problem on my brothers boat ( sucessfully rebuilt the carbs ) and replaced the voltage regulator to correct the tach on my old boat. Saving myself a trip and a lot of cash and wasted time in a repair shop.

Not uncommon to that engine. When you throttle down, push the primer button, I'll bet the noise will go away.
