Hey guys, new to this forum. I have a bass tracker with a 98 merc (tracker) 40hp 2 stroke 3cyl... always ran amazing until a few trips ago i started having a bit of an issue...starts and idles fine, pull away from the dock and go to take off and it only will go 15 mph and 3000ish rpm, where normally its goes 30mph at 5000ish rpm...the first time it did it it onlyadted about 10 seconds then revved up , planed out and no more issues the rest of the day...each time it lasts a little longer...the last trip it never picked up to full speed ... first I thought maybe fuel...cleaned carbs ( they looked prestine inside), fuel pump worked, filter clean, new plugs...didn't help... I'm thinking its something electrical. Changed the stator. Didn't help... I'm thinking maybe rev limiter box or trigger possibly?? Any ideas?? Thanks
