Just picked up our new to us 1998 Sea Ray 190 Bow Rider Signiture Series with the 5.0 Mercruiser engine.

Had her for the 4th and she ran great I did run into a few little problems. Water pump hose burst and it was pumping water into the boat, then we trailerd her and I broke the winch strap at the Marina so I have to get another strap and now a hose. I hope I didn't burn up the bilge pump with it working so hard but time will tell. Had to leave it at my friends cabin before pulling her home, hope to have it ready to go again here soon.

Any advice or tips/tricks are more then welcome this is my wife's and I's first boat so we are pretty new to this.

Sounds like its past due for a through going over, as in check and replace all hoses that are due, double clamp all hoses, complete tune up and filter replacement oil and fuel.

And then with the trailer check the wheel bearings, repack or replace, check the jack and winch for smooth operation and lube appropriately, check all running lights and brake and turn signal lamps for operation, its a 13 yr old boat and depending on how it was kept and maintained it is probably past due for a lot of maintenance, better to take care of these things on shore then out on the water.

Regards,
Kent
