'98 Trophy - Steering wander

Can anyone tell me if this is normal. My brother's 21'6" Trophy wanders when we are trolling. You just cannot
get it to go in a straight line.

That is to say you must constantly steering left and right
to keep it on somewhat of a straight course.

It is so bad that you have to anticipate the next self
induced turn with a gentle countersteer for correction.

The Trophy has a GM 4.3L V-6 I/O with power steering.

Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated.

Never mind! d:)

I finally found the info I needed on this forum.
It is referred to as Deep V Wander, and thought the thread referred to has long since been removed, there was a pretty decent discussion titles something like,
"loose steering".

Unbeknownst to me, my brother already had similar information and has been using his trim tabs all summer. I have not been on his Trophy this summer so i didn't know he had it under control.

Thanks all!

Wow, another Trophy innovation - using trim tabs to control slow speed steering! What will they think of next? d:)

OK Curmudgeon, I have that problem too at slow speeds. I know its normal, but I never heard of using the trim tabs to correct the problem. Can you please elaberate, and explain how to use them to control weaving? Thanks
