Steam comes out of the pee hole once in a while during no wake speed and at times during idle, specially after a long run. During normal speed up to wOT there's a good stream of water coming out of the pee hole which look normal to me. I have touched the water coming out of the pee hole and it's very hot to touch almost to the point where it'll scroch you if you leave your hands longer than 5 seconds.

I have replaced the thermostats and the impeller several times and each time it lasted for about 4 to five outings and its back again. What do you guys think I should do. It starts everytime and takes me to where I want to go and back. It's been a good motor to me. It's getting to be an annoyance to me because I feel I've done everything I could do.

Any help would really be appreciated... Don't really want a new motor or boat... But wouldn't mind a Tracker TARGA 185SC..:). Please help... Thanks...

That sounds normal to me. They only pee when the thermostats open. You should be able to hold your hand in the stream for a few seconds before it becomes uncomfortable. Some steam is normal when the motor is hot, especially right after being worked hard.

If you only replaced the impeller, you might consider replacing the whole pump. They are palstic after all, and if they ever get hot enough, they distort and lose efficiency.

To make it pee all of the time, you can drill a tiny 1/16" hole in each thermostat frame just to the side of the cap that opens and closes. Some thermostats have small slots notched into that cap to accomplish the same thing. You'll notice the strength of the stream change as the thermostats open and close, but it will always pee with those. That would probably eliminate the steam as well.

I have the same motor and it has always more or less spit and sputtered at idle. Never a problem.

WillyBWright and bhile,

Thanks guys for your response. I feel a lot more at ease now that you both said that my motor is just acting normal and it's not a problem. It's a good motor, it hasn't let me down yet...

Thanks and Merry X'mas to the both of you.
