this appears to have been in other threads, but just want to be certain before wasting time and $, have been observing what appears to be corrossion around the head seam, don't know if this is typical due to some kind of electrolysis, or if some thing is actually leaking, motor runs fine compession is good, no signs of water in the cyl, I can clean it off but seems to come right back, there also appears to be rust forming in the gasket seam, is there a metel stiffining plate in side these gaskets, should these be replaced, looks to be original and the bolts appear to have never been broke loose or re-torqued

If it was running good and it was my mtr, I'd just leave it alone. Mercury makes a good corrosion guard you can spray on after cleaning it up.

I been thread searching and that is what others said on similar post, to leave it, I was concerned of water leaking out but never could see wet, and it seems to come back even when sitting for weeks without running, Ive got some corrosion-X, that Ive been using on external components like my trim and tilt, I'll try coating the head seam with that and see what happens
