99 4cyl 40hp?

im looking at a 1999 mercury 40hp. He says its a 4cyl (it is i saw) and a dual carb. its a 2 stroke motor and i was wondering if theres anything with those motors i should be concerned over. He said its the only year they made a 4cyl so im a little wary

They are great motors... they have been 4 cylinder for many years but don't quote me on how many...I sell these as fast as I can get them. Usually sell mid 90's for $1800 if that helps....This motor in Nor Cal would bring around $2300...buy it if the compression is good...great aluminum boat motor...good luck!
