99 ficht 225 PROP Help (PHOTO)

Motor running great on a 23 sea ox<br />with tower & enclosure <br />Im running a 14 3/4 x 17 viper ss<br />and only getting 5400 rpm<br />this is a 6000 rpm motor<br />also I fill her up with 100 gallons and one or two passengers<br />and a bunch of fishing stuff<br />I think I can get 34 knots<br />and get 1.7 to 2.1 on the flowscan<br />I would like to get the rpm's up as not to lug her and get better fuel milage is this possible!!???????????<br />also bennett tabs<br />and pematrim are used on a after market outboard bracket making the boat 25 feet<br /> Thanks Bogart

Is the engine setting clear down on the transom...mounted in the lowest position????<br />Yes, the RPM and milage can be improved..

the engine is mounted on the 2nd hole<br />so when Im at cruise<br />the foil is at the top of the water<br />I trim up to cavatation then trim down a little<br />how can I get better numbers???<br /> Thanks Bogart <br />

With that fin you should be able to raise that motor to the moon. Although I've never been impressed with the Viper as far as height goes. Have you tried raising it up any?<br /><br />Keep in mind you've got a lot of wind resistance and weight right near the nose.
