Just bought a 99 Pro Team 185 with Merc 75 outboard. It started right up and ran/rev'd great - should I put any Seafoam (or other chemical) in the tank for decarbing? If it runs well, why mess with it? As for decarbing, when is a good time?

I would use 1 oz. of Startron Fuel Treatment for every 6 gallons of fuel. This will prevent water problems with the lousy ethanol fuel we have. Also I use seafoam once a season to clean the powerhead and prevent a build up of carbon on the pistons.
Good luck

Do you just add the seafoam to a normal tank of gas?
