My Searay has 5.0 Mercruiser with a 2bbl carb and has 225 original hours on it..When i go to take off, it jumps out the water like usual then it dies..After that i put it back in neutral and it starts right back up and does the same thing..Please help..I have replaced the water fuel separator, {the whole thing, not just the filter} and rebuilt the carb..please shed some light on this for me, i am off tomorrowq and would like to go out on my boat..thanks in advance

First thing I would look at is your anti-siphon valve at the tank. If the valve sticks it will cause a restriction for the fuel pump and it will be unable to suck enough fuel to keep it running on plane. Next check the fuel pump. Pick up a vacuum/fuel pump tester and place it inline with a tee between the pump and the carb. You should have 4-7 psi. If your fuel pump checks out, put a piece of clear line between the fuel pump and carb and see if there is air getting in the line
