Recently purchased a 1997 Glastron SE170 with a 1997 Johnson 130 on it from the original owner. Haven't tried it on the water yet but seems in good shape, compression is 155,155,150,155 and runs decent on the muffs. My question is: is there a data log on the ECU that will show the hours on the motor ? How can that be accessed ? And finally, I note in the owner's manual the 120-130-140 hp have all the same specs. Can a 130 hp motor be re-flashed to 140 hp ?
Thanks

Well not to sound harsh...1) get a Factory manual and read up on you motor 2) it has no ECU 3) couldn't be flashed if it did it changes EPA rating. 4) It can be a 140 with 140 carbs and throttle plates

So it appears the difference is in the size of the carbs for the various horsepower ratings.

OK Thanks gents

Or maybe it is some marketing !!-------Hard to sell a 4 cylinder 140 HP when there is a 6 cylinder 150 HP in the line up.-----Marketing / production capacity do make a difference on what decal is selected for the cowling !
