Re: A & B Foam
You mix it, and it expands quite a bit. You can put it in two ways. One way is to pour the foam before laying the floor, and cutting the excess level with the stringer tops. The other (and I feel superior) way is to lay the floor and then pour the foam. What you do is cut a hole every two feet and raise the bow as much as possible. The you mix small quantities of foam and pour in the lowest hole first. Keep pouring the small amounts in the first hole until foam starts to come out of the hole. You must wait for full expansion before pouring the next batch. Once the foam starts to come out the first hole, stick the plug from your holesaw in the hole and place a weight on it. Then you go to the next hole, and repeat, working your way to the bow, which is also the highest point. What this technique does is prevent expansion from blowing out the floor or bulging the bottom because the foam still has room to expand forward, but is still filling the void completely and provides support. If you were to leave the boat level and pour through the holes, you end up with voids and/or bulging.
