A big problem with my engine...

I have a 25hp mercury outboard and recently i changed the CDI switch box as it was burnt. The new CDI I put in is the 114-5713. It started working normally but was on idling was firing on one piston still as it was before and making this sparking noise that was coming from the coils. As soon as i gave it gas it was working on 2 pistons. After 20 minutes of using the boat it stopped and when I started it again it went back to working on 1 piston. Now the bottom piston is not working. Could it be my CDI blew again ? What could be the problem and how could I fix this ?

Jake, you're probably not getting any responses because for one it's a holiday weekend and two your problem is pretty vague. Vague to you and vague to us. In your case the only thing I could reasonably recommend is to get the service manual for you motor and start with the basic trouble shooting techniques.

Doing this will save you a lot of money chasing your tail by throwing parts at it.

Didn't know its a holiday weekend as im not from the US thanks for the heads up tho. Any idea where I can buy such a manual as the serial number on my engine yeilds no results on google...
