My 86' Rude 90hp has recently sustained and internal injury due to the ignorance of yours truly. The sleeve is showing a crack at one of the exhaust port ribs. The rib is OK. My friendly neighborhood machinists thinks it will be OK. He says he can bevel the crack a little so the rings won't catch, mic the sleeve for true and we not have to re-sleeve. I'm a little un-sure of this. Can some of you guys give me some opinions? I'm just about ready to say, "better safe than sorry" and re-sleeve the offending cylinder.

Signed...Tongue in cheek in Ohio....

According to "the book" it needs to be resleeved. In the real world its OK. If it was going to catch a ring it would have already done so.

At this point its a matter of how you feel. Do whatever makes you comfortable with the motor. If that means resleeving then go that way.

Good luck!
