Hey everyone.. Im in the process of restoring my boat, and Ive run into a couple questions that I cant seem to find the answer to in the search.

1. Where can I rent or purchase an alignment tool? I have an 88 Sunbird w/ omc cobra 4.3L. Id like to align it today, but cant seem to figure out where to get the tool.. Im in Florida btw if that helps. I see them on ebay.. but am at a stand still till I can win, then get it shipped.. plus.. they are kinda expensive.. Id really like to just rent 1 if possible.

2. The kid who took my engine out bolted.. so now I have a lot of questions on how some brackets and some of the cables and wiring go on the motor.. I have a manual.. but there are very few pics in it.. Anyone know a good place for me to look for specific pictures of different parts of the motor?

3. Im going to drop the new motor in, in about an hour. Is there anything that I should know before doing so. (ie.. things that are much easier to do out of the boat.. or things that are impossible to do while the motor is in the boat?

Thanks in advance for the info!

Re: A few simple questions

You will catch abuse for owning an OMC, (fellow owner); but hold on, people in here will help.
Try search, I know the dimensions have been posted for alignment tool.

I have a 4.3 volvo that I just pulled out of my Larson Sei186. I took alot of pics before pulling it, and after pulling it. I am also interested in the alignment tool if anyone has info on it. I can post the pics if someone tells me where to put them.

I got mine off of Ebay also. The local shops would not loan or rent one.
It was about 40 bucks plus shipping of about 20 bucks.
Used it one time..
That 60 bucks is better than replacing the coupler or U-joints..;)
