Hey guys - my spring fever fishing fix won't wait till I get my bigger boat done - so picked up an alumium 14'? Sea Nymph and trying to get more info about the year made and capacity.

registration says 14' and seller said 14' but tape measure says 13'6" center stern to center bow. 4 bench seats. , measures 48" across. Serial number is 421750 (another post looking for year said his might be '71 because it ended in 71?) On tag says Sea Nymph to left and looks like Sta_ _ _ _ y Corp to right? Model says 14 _ _? Weight limit?

The tag on the transom is so faded and scratched that I can't see the weight linimts or motor limits. Bought an older 20hp mercury recently, and today a used transom mount vector 3x for trolling - but trying to find out what size is the largest motor i can put on her. Have an older Jodnson 30hp up north - will the boat support it?

I plan to do a little mod, like adding a small casting deck if stable enouph and removing one of the bench seats to make more open and put in a removable floor - but that can wait. Any info appreciated. Thanks guys :)

Guess no one has one of these lying around or knows the hp or weight limits?

Theres limited info on the older SeaNymphs MM.

Id think that 20 would do just fine on it.

I have a 56 Richline that is about the same size; 14' V hull with a tapered stern. Mine came with a 9.5 hp and I increased it to a 15. I think a 20 might be okay, but I would be hesitant to put a 30 hp on that transom, especially an older (read heavier) unit.

I believe that a 20 hp should give all the thrill you desire. These little round bottom boats just don't respond well to being over powered. That 30 is alot of pressure on a somewhat flimsy transom. I would have recommended a 9.9-20hp max on that boat for general fishing/boating duties.
