Hello first time poster, but have been learning from watching. last spring I spun my "gimbal" bearing actuly a intermediate drive carrier bering and roched my bellhousing. I need to id my engine / outdrive in order to order a replacement. 1986 Bayliner Capri 2.1 hull id BLIA800XG586. The only markings I see on the engine block are cast in B230. Oh by the way this is a volvo/penta. There is a tag on the top of the outdrive 27132947D. Thanks for any info. Also I have a seloc manual that covers the out drive pretty well but havent found anything on the engine or intermediate parts ie clutch, bellhousing, aligning the engine etc. Thanks agin

Probably an AQ125B if its a 2.1. Look on the lower part of the block for a tag. Single or double carb?

Single carb. The shift cover is so faded you cant read it. Cant find any tag on the engine.

Hard to say for sure. Either aq125 or aq131.

Either way I believe they use the same flywheel cover. How do you know the flywheel cover is shot?

I've been working on a bayliner that says capri 2.1 SOHC on the side. Is that what you've got? The one I'm working on is an aq125b.

Many of us have replaced those bearings. Have you got the engine and flywheel cover out of the boat yet? Happy to help if you need it.

Good Luck.

Side of the boat only says capri 2.1. Im pretty sure its shot, I thought it was 2 pieces so i put a puller on the snout and busted it off. OOps! Found an outufit out of florida who has used ones for around $300. Does that sound about right?

Thanks

Sorry, I've never had to buy a used one, or new one.

Does the new one come with the driveshaft and bearings or just the housing? I guess all you can do is shop around, ebay, etc. Just make sure you get one that fits your motor. Did the seller say what motor the used one came off of?
