I have been doing a lot of mods to my baby pontoon boat, naturally I work with stainless steel so I seem to build a lot of things from my scrap pile,
I wanted a boarding ladder but wanted it to be simple and effective, this was made from some old p w c handle bars and a couple of pieces of stainless laying around, the center tube was once a swimming pool ladder.

I also added rollers between the skids so to be able to power on to the trailer I made stainless guides and added a step up peg to the one by the side door for climbing up when the boat is on the trailer.

I also added numerous pole holders in various places around the boat, and 6 in front of the console for transporting them without having fishing poles all over the place.

I also built a stainless offset trolling motor bracket for the 40 lb thrust motor

on the back rails I made stainless brackets and mounted 2 heavy duty utility boxes on I converted to a fish box and it holds ice for 24 hours, plus I installed a drain on the bottom for rinsing it out and mounted some items like paddle and dock hook out of the way on the back of the boxes.

I also built a secure anchor box to hold the anchor and chain, I run the rope in to the storage area under the front seat.

sorry couldn't put more than 6 pictures in a single post?????
On the opposite side of the front deck I converted a roll around cooler in to a live well, this is removable, it has 1 feed that picks up water when the boat is moving and a pump on a timer for when the boat is stationary. the hoses have quick release couplers and the water pick up hose also has a on off switch to keep water out when you don't need it.

the pump and the water pick up mount on the rear of the left toon and I keep a spare pump in the utility box just in case ,, hate to have my bait croak.

And can't forget the damn weed deflector and splash deflector to keep the spray off the engine cover

just a few of the mods I have done so far.

for chumming the water I used an old trolling motor prop mounted in a bucket with a 12 volt blower motor to operate it,, works like a big blender,,

I just can't leave things alone,, and this time of the year orders slow down and it does give me time to do other things like mess with the boat.

At first I thought that cooler at the front was a keg, and the tubes go to the helm so you dont have to get up to get another 'cold one' :p:eek:

Now THAT would be an invention!

I just noticed your from Florida. I hear that each time a hurrican goes past, all sorts of things will land in your yard that you can use to build from!

Nice touches. One suggestion though would be to install rubber crutch tips on the boarding ladder steps. Those exposed edges -- whether or not they are smoothed off can cut deeply if one should slip. There are very large veins in ones leg and they are easily cut. Anti-slip pads are also available to wrap the top half of each step to help with footing.

they have black nylon inserts at the end slip on tips over the end can slip off, and the rungs are not at all slippery or I would have done the rubber like I did on the bottom step,, that one was slippery, plus there is rubber strips between the stainless and the aluminum to prevent dissimilar metal contact and corrosion,, plus zinc blocks under the base,, ain't my first rodeo,, lol didn't want to confuse people with the facts.
