Best value? Tohatsu.<br />Best service? BRP (JohnnyRude) or Merc.<br />Best engine? Probably Yamaha.<br /><br />Next question.

Fixin:<br /><br />If I were you, I'd stay away from the Merc 40 2 stroke. I just traded a 50 2 stroke (almost the same as the 40 2 stroke)last year. My 50 was by far the worst motor I ever owned. I'm really not bashing Merc. They're selling a lot of good motors but if the one you're thinking about is the same as the one I just traded, I'd stay away.<br /><br />Mine was a 2003 model. Good luck
