A quick question about my engine.

2001 Mercruiser 5.7 carbureted s/n: 0M070881 Thuderbolt V ignition.

Does this engine have Vortec heads? I've done a number of google searches and can't find the answer.

Do you have angled plugs? I have Vortec heads (aluminum) on a zz383 Stroker from GMPP in my C2 Corvette. Angled plugs.

Angled plugs as in not perpendicular to the head.

The engine takes an NGK - BPR6EFS spark plug which is pretty standard in appearance (ie not angled). Does that mean the heads are not Vortec?

Don't let "duh coach" confuse the issue! Your plugs are NOT angled. That NGK # sounds right without looking.

You have stock GM Vortec heads!
