A quick stereo question...

I am updating my sound system and curious about what gauge wire should I use for running the yellow and black wires back to the battery? Its a 8-10 ft run... I was thinking of using 12 gauge. The red will be connected to a separate on/ off switch, so im not worried about that.

The yellow can be 16 gauge since it is only powering the memory. I connect yellow to the red and not worry about memory. The black wire needs to be the same gauge as the red. If you are just powering a radio with no amp, 12 gauge is actually overkill.

Yep... the wire for memory can be small.

The main power leads... depends on watts output. I've seen up to 6 gauge used with 100 amp fuse there... (and wondered why the guy wasn't stone deaf)
